There is a lot of spoilage in food production and a good amount of food is thrown away because it is not marketable: it has spots or little bits of mold; its limp or it falls to the floor and breaks - or the label is missing on a can that is otherwise sound.
This is a series of photos conatining vegetables, fruits, grains and whatever else that gets tossed out. I'd like to consider these examples of portraiture, rather than a still-life. The decision to present them in monchrome was to emphasize and examine their distinct and captivating form rather than their color, no matter how vibrant they are.
